has told National RV that the speed control deactivation switches
installed in National’s Class A motorhomes
are being recalled.
Worse yet, this appears to be part of
the Ford recall where Ford ran out of parts. The switch can
leak, overheat and cause a fire.

Federal safety investigators report that on some of the
Ford chassis Class A motorhomes, the speed control deactivation
switch may, under certain conditions, leak internally and
then overheat, smoke, or burn. National Rv and Ford have
not yet identified the serial numbers of all the affected
Class A motorhomes built between 1992 and 2004 that were
equipped with the dangerous faulty switches.

Owners of the National Rv motor homes should take their
vehicles to their local Ford dealer and ask to have the speed
control deactivation switch fixed or at least disconnected
as a temporary measure if the parts are not immediately available.
