International Recalls 51,000
Prostar Trucks for Fire Hazard
Do you own one of these potential lemon International Prostar
trucks?
- 2009 International Prostar
Federal safety investigators report that Navistar is recalling
51,588 Prostar trucks, buses and school buses, built between
November 21, 2000 and May 21, 2008, equipped with power modules.
Turns out the “potting material” that wraps around
the circuit board of the vehicle’s remote power module
may not sufficiently seal the circuit board from water and
contamination.
If water or contaminants get in, it can cause an internal
electrical short that could result in fire. Fire inside a truck
or bus is not a good thing, folks.
