Chrysler Recalls Sedans for
Engine Fire Danger
DaimlerChrysler
is recalling over 44,000 2006 Chrysler vehicles because the
brake system can leak into the engine compartment and erupt
into a fire.
Do you (or did you) own any of these potential Chrysler
lemon cars or Dodge lemon cars?
- 2006 Chrysler 300
- 2006 Dodge Charger
- 2006 Dodge Magnum
According to federal government safety officials at the National
Highway Transportation Safety Administration, these
potential lemon cars are equipped with an 2.7 liter engine
and were manufactured between June 1, 2005 and February
20, 2006. The problem comes from some EGR tubes being located
too close to the vehicle brake tubes. The EGR tubes handle
the vehicle’s exhaust gas recirculation system. The
brake system design was changed and the brake tube relocated
in the engine compartment, apparently without realizing
the danger it could pose.
At least 9 cars have caught fire from the problem.
If you own a potential lemon Chrysler car or a lemon Dodge
car, you may be entitled to your money back or a new vehicle.

This isn’t the first Chrysler 300 recall for manufacturing
defects. In October 2005 DaimlerChyrsler issued a recall
covering over a quarter million 2005 and 2006 Chrysler 300
vehicles for potentially dangerous transmission “park” gear
issues. You can read about that recall by clicking here.
If you’ve got a dangerous vehicle, don’t go
it alone! You may be entitled to your money back or a new
vehicle.
