Newmar Recalls 16,190 RVs for Fire Danger

Do you own one of these potential lemon Newmar motor home vehicles?

Some 1997 Newmar motorhomes, 1998 Newmar, 1999 Newmar, 2000, Newmar, 2001 Newmar, 2002 Newmar, and 2003 Newmar recreational vehicles are affected by the recall.

The vehicles involved in the recall are recreational vehicles that were equipped with certain models of refrigerators manufactured by Dometic Corporation between April 1997 and May 2003. The vehicle models in question are: ALTT, ALFW, ASTT, ASFW, DSCA, DSDP, KAFW, KACA, KADP, KSFW, KSCA, KSDP, KSTT, LAFW, LADB, MACA, MAFW, MADP, SDCA.

Newmar has told federal safety investigators that all the vehicles may have the defect and either the refrigerator could stop working or a fire could result.

A potential defect in the “boiler tube” can release pressurized coolant solution into an area where a gas flame may exist.
