Honda Recalls 166,000 Vehicles for Stalling Defects

Do you own one of these potential lemon Honda Accord, Honda Odyssey, Honda Ridgeline, or potential lemon Acura TL, Acura RL, Acura TSX vehicles?

Honda has told federal safety investigators that a coil wire inside the vehicle’s fuel pump relay may break, causing the fuel pump to lose power. If the fuel pump becomes inoperative, the engine may not start. Worse yet, if the fuel pump quits while driving, the engine could stall without warning, and a crash could occur.

Not all Hondas are affected by the recall. To find out if your Honda is one of the recalled Honda cars or recalled Honda trucks, check your vehicle’s serial number against the list above.

Reports of the problem first reached Honda in April 2006. Honda didn’t say why it took them nearly a year for the recall to be taken. No one knows how many people were injured or how many accidents occurred while Honda “studied” the problem.
