2025-2026 Hyundai Elantra & Tucson Recall: Air Bag Sensor Defect
The Problem
Hyundai Motor America has issued a recall for certain 2025 and 2026 models due to a critical manufacturing error. The B-pillar impact sensors, which are responsible for detecting a crash and triggering air bag deployment, may have been misassembled with incorrect printed circuit boards.
The Risk
If these sensors fail to function as intended, there may be a significant delay in air bag deployment during a collision. In a crash scenario, every millisecond counts; a delayed deployment fails to provide the necessary protection to occupants, greatly increasing the risk of serious injury or death.
Legal Rights
Safety recalls are serious, but they are often just the tip of the iceberg. If you own one of these affected Hyundai models and have experienced repeated electrical issues or safety failures, you don’t have to settle for just a “patch” repair. Under the Lemon Law, you may be entitled to a replacement vehicle or a full refund. Call for a free consultation today.
